What does it mean to consign with Kelleher?

We want to make sure that when you are dealing with your collections that you are 100% comfortable with the process, from start to finish. We first want to make sure that we are the right fit for your material. This is why we ask that you visit our “inquire about selling” page to submit information and images about your collection. Within 5 business days we will get back to you about the next step in processing your consignment or the outright sale of your material.

In the meantime, you can also use our Value$earch tool to look for similar items that we have already sold so that you can find general value assessments for items within your collection.

How long is the selling process?

Depending on when Kelleher receives your material in our auction cycle, our experts will determine which sale it is best suited for. Kelleher has the most frequency of any Philatelic Auction Houses, enabling us to bring to market strategically and expediently any collection.  From start to finish it is usually 3-4 months.  Those interested in faster capitalization of their collection can sell outright for immediate payment or discuss our interest-free liberal advance policy.

What is my material worth?

We offer free appraisals for suitable collections to help determine your collection’s market value. Please click here to submit information to us about your collection and one of our experts will contact you

Will my material be insured while in your possession?

Yes, we are fully insured by Berkley Asset Protection, insuring your collection at full market replacement value.

What is your sellers commission rate?

Our standard commission rates start at 20%, depending on the value, size, and nature of the material, the rates can vary. We strive to receive the highest possible price within the marketplace.

How do I get my material to you?

After knowing more about the collection its value and your circumstance, we can arrange an in-home visit, shipping tags for a fully insured shipment with FedEx, or you can visit us at one of our offices.

Do you assist with estate evaluations and dissemination?

Yes, at Kelleher we have experts that help facilitate the sale of all your material and will walk you through the entire process.  We can provide your accountant or attorney the documentation and paperwork they would need to assist you fully.

Do you sell things other than stamps?

Yes, we do. We have a history of selling autographs, coins, currency, sports cards and ephemera.  If you have material outside our scope of knowledge we have esteemed trusted colleagues and can usually provide a suitable referral.

When will I get paid?

Settlement proceeds are paid 45 business days following the last day of the sale. We do have interest-free liberal advances for those that need funds sooner.
